I had to do it. TheEggMan03 is an amazing artist with a unique style. The traditional pencil artist, Zach, is from Massachusetts and is a romantic as well. His favorite movie is Pulp Fiction, I like that one too. Of his art work my favorite is a drawing of one of my comic characters in his own style. Also I like his comic “From The Heavens”. The Winator…Yeah

Robin, also known as Thewinator on the art site DeviantART (DA), is rather popular on the DA. The 19 year old from the Netherlands is known for his CSS custom journals which are already big amongst DA users. CSS Journals are not the only thing he does. DiRT 2 Review – Stefawn T.

Well after 3 days of play I think I can accurately give you guys and gals a decent review.

The Good

Today we are discussing Colin McRae DiRT 2. The DiRT series has brought Rally racing games a long way since the old Colin McRae Rally Racing on the Playstation X (PSX or PS1).  DiRT was an instant hit, so much so I had a hard time finding a used copy at my local GameStop, and I had three of them close by. As I have only played a demo of the first DiRT I have little to compare when it comes to DiRT 2. However compared to the current running racing games DiRT 2 wins hands down. DiRT 2 is available on every gaming platform including mobile platforms. This means everyone will get a chance to experience it for themselves. The first thing you’ll notice  when starting this game is the interactive menu. Half inside your RV and the other half outside. Next you’ll discovered the wide variety of things you can do as you go through your menu and the Dirt Tour map along with plenty of unlockable items. Once you jump into your first race you quickly learn that this is not your average racing game. It starts with the amazing surround sound quality that makes every sound of the engine, the collisions, and the dirt beneath your wheels sound as rea as it looks and feels. That brings me to the next element you’ll notice, the feel. Every car drives differently, every course feels different, and even the water puddles feel real as they can create drag on your car. Then the look, beyond beautiful. Use your In-car camera and see as mud and water realistically splatter on to your windshield and limits visibility until the windshield wipers wipe it off. The dust, the lights, the sound, and the water, all amazing and so real that you feel as if you were there. They have various liveries to customized the look of your car as well as dashboard and windshield toys and a variety of horns to use. There are many tournaments that you are automatically entered in once you complete the stipulations.

The Bad

As much as  I’d like to say this game is perfect it has it’s downsides not many though. One is the quickness of the game. I love racing games, but I by no means am an expert. In three days I have reached level 17 and have completed 2 out of 3 X-Games events. The lack of customization hurt a bit too. Customization has become a major part in auto racing games, DiRT 2 has a set of Liveries to sustain you but I want more. This is not a game for beginners. I recommend you try out Midnight Club: Los Angles or Need For Speed: Undercover first and ge used to arcade style racing. That’s all for now, see I told you not much.

Final Verdict

This is a must get for anyone who love racing games, cars, or getting dirty. This is truly how a racing game should be. Remember we still have to see what Forza 2 and Gran Turismo 5 have to offer. Can they match the amount of realistic gameplay DiRT 2 provided? We’ll see, Forza 2 is scheduled to be released this fall and, according to the GameStop website,  Gran Turismo 5 is scheduled to be released February of 2010.

To Sum it Up…

- Most realistic racing game thus far. Short but has much replay value.

-Buy, Rent, or Skip? This is a must buy for racing game and rally racing fans, otherwise I recommend you rent it.

Next time I see you guys with a game review it will be with Uncharted 2 and Gran Turismo 5. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you enjoy this game. Later.

Gunslinger Girl and Playstation HOME

This holiday weekend Playstion will be giving a free download of the first episode of season two. You can also watch it streaming in Playstation HOME in the laystation Theater. While at the theater you can check out a new music video by Shakira and the latest episode of Pulse. Gunslinger Girl is a show about young girls on the brink of death, saved by a secret government organization, given mechanically engineered bodies and erased their memories and traind them to kill terroist. Since I only saw the first episode this is all the information I can give.

Kastle Comics is LIVE

Sarah White is the creative mind behind the popular online comic, Kastle Comic. The comic is pretty much real-life events from her new life in Texas. The new series has new characters, her sister Mandy and Mandy’s husband Cody. Missing the older characters from the comicbook store? Well one, Wess, made a recent appearence so we can probably expect to see one of them every now and again. Want to know more about Sarah well this excertp is from her “About” page on the Castle Comic site.

Waiting for Fight Night: Round 4 update to load so in the meantime here’s some new stuff for you.

It’s Official DiRT 2 on MAGMU InDepth

I have completely paid off my DiRT 2 pre-order from GameStop. I will give you a detailed review (much like the Fight Night Review I did) the day after release. I found my old PC camera and as soon as I get a cord for it I will test the quality to give you live in-game footage at MAGMU InDepth and MAGMU Videos on YouTube.

PS3 Update: 3.00

This has to be the coolest update yet. With the release of the new PS3 (PlayStation 3) model the have almost completely reworked the XMB (Cross Media Bar). Now instead of starting on a disc when you power on your PS3 you will start on a new option called “What’s New”. This section shows three news items from the PSN (PlayStation Network) below that you’re three most recently played games and six PSN ads and events. Also new are the two new access points to the PS Store (PlayStation Store). One under the games section and one under the videos section. Both show you the latest releases for theat section of the PS Store. The PS Store can still be accessed from the networks section under “What’s New” and HOME. The new default background has a bit more action and the welcome screen is a bit more welcoming. The new PS3 logo, in my opinion, is really lame however, it does fit the new design well.  Also new is now with game updates you get to see a list of what is being updated and what PS Store items this update is for. A nice addition when games randomly decide to update without worning. The friends list also has a makeover making it more frindly on your eyes. The new update is the best since the update introducing the XMB. This is just on more reason to get a PS3, now only $299.

DiRT 2 Review Part One and Disney Get Marvel – Stefawn T.

No art today I haven’t been about to actually look through artist to see who I want to feature. I will say that Shira-chan (Sarah White) has returned to her comic, Kastle Comics. Sadly it won’t feature her hilarious co-workers from the comic shop but she has made new friends and new co-workers so it’ll be exciting to see what happens next. Okay now for the big news.

DiRT 2 Demo’s Excelence

The last Friday of August was the first day of the DiRT 2 Demo on the Playstation Network (PSN).  I was excited about this game of the the success of the first. Codemasters has had an amazing run on the Playstation 3 (PS3) and XBox 360 and they continue to deliver. Fuel and GRiD still don’t compare to what DiRT 2 can do. The first thing you notice when you start is the amazing main menu. The menu is separated in two parts. One is inside of your trailer the other is outside. Next, is the car customization. Not the outside but the inside. Adding things to your dashboard such as hula girls and hang things from your rear-view mirror like fuzzy dice. Once you’ve picked your race and your vehicle you next notice shorter loading than the previous DiRT game. Next is what amazes me the most. The one thing that could put games like Forza 2 and Gran Turismo 5. The thing is the realism of the environment and elements. One thing is the mud puddles. Many games have had watter and mud splash up on to the windshield but this is different and the most realistic. When driving through the puddle will automatically activate the windshield wipers. They smear the mud around until it is completely gone leaving you blinded temporarily if your view is inside the car. That adds to your strategy to get around courses and catch a victory.  The physics and soundtrack are equally as amazing. This is a must get game for the Fall for anyone with a PS3, XBox 360, and PC owners. The Game is rated T for Teen for Lyrics and Mild Suggestive Themes. The game is available September 8th, 2009 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC (Rated T). Also Available for the Wii and PSP (Rated E10+) and Nintendo DS (Rated E).

Family Friendly Wolverine?

Today Disney has announced they have acquired 5,000 Marvel characters  for $4 Billion. There is already 20 hours of Marvel television series airing on Disney channels. At the moment and for the next few years however, 20th Century Fox, Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Pictures, Sony Corp.’s Columbia Pictures, and General Electric Co.’s Universal Studios (which has an attraction called Marvel Super Hero Island in Orlando, Florida) will keep their ties to Marvel. Sony and Fox have their contracts until they fail to make more movies. These movies from the three fore mentioned movie companies will be new “Spider-Man 4″, “Iron Man 2″, and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2″. Other movies include Daredevil, Fantastic Four, and the Silver Surfer. Disney will be doing the “Thor” and “First Avengers: Captain America”. For more information Visit the links below.

MAGMU Break

EmptyShadow is an artist on the deviantART website. She is 18, from the US, and is an amazing artist. I can’t really describe the style, I’m not too good with that I normally try to use popular artwork but I couldn’t think of any. Her style is vibrant yet dark at the same time. Yes, another dA artist from the US. Jessica Roth, aka Gloriantes, is 22 from Ruskin, Florida, and another amazing artist. She is very diverse in style so I can’t give a single description, however I would say it’s mostly an anime style of sorts. You can see for yourself. Indeed it does and I have something for every taste.

Ten Years in the Making

In 1999 Hip-Hop artist Method Man and Redman release an album titled Blackout. Now from the same dynamic duo comes Blackout 2. Listening to them back to back it hard to tell which one is old and which is new. Method Man and Red man managed to bring new music while retaining their original style. This is a move to revitalize Hip-Hop music which has currently been overrun by the Rap genre. Many people are confused about the difference, listen to newer rap artist that have come out since 2005 then listen to both Blackout and Blackout 2. The difference will be clear. The whole album is one big party as you would expect from one of Wu-Tang’s finest and the craziest Hip-Hop artist in the game. If you are a hardcore Hip-Hop fan or new to it you should check this album out.

Return of REAL Soul

You’ve been waiting for it well here it is. Maxwell has come out with a new album, Blacksummers’night. If you ever heard a Maxwell album then you won’t be disappointed with this one. Nine songs, nine ways to sit back and chil. The title is highly appropriate because I could see people playing this album on summer nights around the grill. The fusion of Jazz and Rhythm & Blues, which is also known as Neo-Soul, makes a perfect sit back and relax atmosphere.

Here Comes Goodbye

Not for this group though. Rascal Flatts has an amazing album with their hit song “Here Comes Goodbye” called Unstoppable. This group very well maybe just that, unstoppable. I am not a big Country music fan but they managed to bring the genre to me, a Hip-Hop and R&B fan. Not only that but many others I have introduced the music to say that they love the Rascal Flatts even if they won’t listen to anyone else in the genre.

Yes, I Found You

I found The Fray thanks to the Zune Marketplace Picks which picks new and popular music a listener may like compared to what’s been played on the Zune player or software. The Fray is an amazing group that is a style all there own. They first gained fame thanks to the overwhelming use of their son “How to Save a Life” which has been in many movies and tv shows. Their new self tit;ed album “The Fray” is amazing featuring the hit song “You Found Me”.  I found it now I think you should too.

Minor Update

MAGMU can now be contacted via Skype (look for r3537l1f3 or Stefawn Thompson). I still have no microphone as of yet but hopefully by the end of the month I will have a new Skype ready laptop to conduct audio and video interviews. Also I will be working on that email, for now you can contact the head author at luckydezi@gmail.com. I need Xbox and Nintendo fans to assist in writing game reviews.

MAGMU Update

MAGMU is constantly changing and getting new fans quite often. I am quite a busy person so I can’t update and bring you the latest information as soon as I get it. I still need help to make this blog better. Anyway, I am working on getting that email address for MAGMU (most likely will be a Yahoo address). This email will also be associated with whatever instant messenger program it comes with. Also MAGMU will now be able to record audio interviews with the use of Skype and Audacity. The two programs will connect me too and record conversations with featured artist of all trades. My new job gives me afternoons and weekends to update MAGMU as well as holidays so be on the lookout for new post often. I will try to post every weekend. Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy the rest of today’s short but sweet article.

Sugar Rocks!

Indeed it does and so does sugarock99, a terrific photographer from the Bahamas that I just found. What makes her photographs unique is that they are all underwater. She has a series or photos on deviantART and more on her own personal site. Most of her models for her shots are her own son and daughter and their friends. That adds a unique personality to each picture. She has an FAQ in her journal so I will link it here so you may learn more and see the amazing pictures for yourself.

Aim for Pete!

This is more of an announcement than an artist spotlight. Not that Pete’s not a good artist just I had another idea instead. Pete is a rocking, drawing, vblogging, machine and he want you to draw that. It’s the first ever “What if Pete was a(n) Pokemon/Ninja/Girl/Kaiju/Robot/Furry” contest. I myself have entered it just for the fun of it. I don’t plan to win though. Anyway it’s pretty straight forward and the rules are in his journal. The contest ends August 8th and submissions must be noted to him via a deviantART note. I hope to see that you guys enter and the best of luck to all participants.

Ghost, Rong, Greene Streets, and IMV-No – Stefawn T.

It was going to be a big article but I scaled it back a bit so today I will review Ghostbusters: The Video Game review for the PS3. Following that will be art work from two great artist, rings1234 and greenestreet. Then the moment you have all been waiting for, what I don’t like about the new IMVU 2.0. It’s not much but the are there.

Who You Gonna Call?

Don’t call me because I’m afraid of ghost, well these kind anyway. The demo for Ghostbusters: The Video Game, from Atari, has recently been released on the Playstation Network. From what I know from magazine articles and interviews, the game takes place after the second movie. You play a intern for the Ghostbusters and start off the demo in the library you may recall from the first movie. Fans of the movies will enjoy just looking at the game as it has the same colors, look, and feel that you experienced the first time. The game is rather fast paced and due to the speed you cannot die or loose life. Instead you fall for a moment then get back up after regaining composer and resuming the fight. It is unclear if this is just for the demo or actually will be ingame. Everything on your proton pack is constantly reacting to your environment. The PKE Meter is on feature you can use to find hidden and nearby ghost. Whether you are using it or not it is constantly working and is visible on the side of your pack clearly and accurately to eliminate getting lost looking for ghost. All the voices of the original actors are there and the fun is too. Trapping ghost is like an added mini game with you having to hold the ghost within the trap cone. The only downside side for me was lack of instruction and directions. I was told several times to do something I had no idea how to do despite checking the controls before hand. Also as mentioned earlier the game is very fast paced, not a bad thing but doesn’t help when you ar lost. Out of 10 I’d give it a 7 for now, at least until I get my hands on the full game.

Grab Life by the Rongs

Great art from the artist rongs1234 from dA is next. Not much I can say about Rongs. I don’t know his name but he is an American artist at the age of 21. Though his dA page says he is an anime artist he isn’t just another anime artist. Rongs has a unique style very bright, colorful, and upbeat. His original characters are unique and diverse and his other art is just a joy to view. Don’t take my word for it though check it out for yourself.

Make a left at GreeneStreet

Sanford Greene, also known as greenestreet on deviantART, is an illustrator. At least that is what it says on his dA profile. I call him an American classic. Looking at his art reminds me of classic comic books from the 90s. His drawings of Marvel and DC characters are beautiful and his own art is equally amazing. He enjoys the art he does and you can tell just by looking at it so stop by his gallery and see for yourself.

IMVU 2 a No Go…

Now anyoone that has talked to me on IMVU or read my previous articles on them know I love the new client but it has it’s down side. First the Shop section in the client doesn’t let you access you wishlist. I can’t add or purchase any thing from my wish list unless I go online. So far that’s my only problem I am still tinkering around wth it so give me time.
